I set foot in Bangladesh in 2012. My first impression was the extraordinary energy of Dhaka, the fast pace of development, and above all, the warmth and vitality of its people — something that cannot be felt in Japan today. As I returned and met more people, I became increasingly fascinated by the country. A conversation with my friend and business partner, Md. Kamal Hossain, led to the establishment of JBS Holdings Ltd.
My career as a lawyer in Japan has involved real estate and construction law. Although Japan and Bangladesh have different regulations, national borders do not change the fundamentals of what makes a building good or bad. My father was also a first-class architect in Japan. The joy of seeing buildings he designed has stayed with me since childhood, and I believe I inherited his passion for creating places that endure.
Urban development in Bangladesh is moving quickly. First and foremost, I want to provide our customers with safe spaces that can be passed from parents to children, and from those children to the next generation. The excitement and delight of our customers is the excitement and delight of everyone at JBS.
